Jar Loft

Parental Controls & Learning

Screen time your child earns by learning

Jar Loft is a parental controls and learning app for families with a child aged 6 to 12. You choose the apps and limits. Your child earns minutes through short learning rounds.

It uses Apple's Screen Time to restrict selected apps, such as YouTube and TikTok, on your child's iPhone or iPad. You can also set a daily allowance.

Coming to the App Store

For iPhone and iPad with iOS or iPadOS 26.5 or later.

You set the plan. They earn the minutes.

  1. Choose the apps

Pick the apps, set daily limits and choose bedtime. Keep school apps available.

  2. Play a short round

A successful five-question round earns minutes. Hints help when a question feels tricky.

  3. Spend or save

Your child can use earned minutes in a spend window or save them. Daily limits and bedtime still apply.

What your child practices

Short rounds cover math, money, logic and online smarts, with activities suited to your child's age and progress. Chance and risk is for ages 10 to 12. Not every subject is available at age 6.

Their learning stays on the device

No accounts, ads, tracking or third-party SDKs. Your child's profile, answers, learning progress and minutes stay on the device. Our server receives anonymous parent-screen counts and aggregate Apple notification counts.

Check the fit for your family

Use a child Apple Account in Family Sharing on your child's own device, or a shared family iPad with a parent-controlled Screen Time passcode. Jar Loft manages one child profile on the device where it is installed. There is no remote control from your phone.

The free plan includes the lock, a daily allowance and one earning round a day. Paid access allows more rounds, up to the limits you set. Screen Time has limits: some videos may keep playing after time ends.

Read the setup and lock FAQ and make a family screen time plan.
